in Dubai Healthcare City
Wound Care & Oxygen Therapy Center
The DMPrevent state-of-the-art center is located in Dubai's Healthcare City. The clinic features many advanced treatment options including topical wound oxygen therapy (TWO2), revascularization, bioengineered skin substitutes, compression therapy, negative pressure wound therapy and debridement. In addition to diabetic wounds, the center is able to treat any type of skin ulcers, including pressure ulcers, arterial and venous stasis ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, complex soft tissue ulcers and traumatic wounds.
Using a comprehensive interdisciplinary approach to diagnosis, treatment and prevention, we offer personalized care to Emiratis in a comforting, state-of-the-art outpatient facility. Here, patients can rest assured that they have professional partners committed to providing gold-standard care, and who understand their unique health and healing concerns.
In the UAE, there are only eight full-time and two part-time podiatrists and no designated wound care specialists to treat patients with diabetic wounds. The World Health Organization recommends at least 200 specialists to meet the needs for this area. The lack of wound care specialists combined with the expected rise in the prevalence of diabetes makes this a severely underserved region in need of the services provided by DMPrevent. The worldwide diabetes epidemic is influenced by sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy diets and obesity, all risk factors leading to the projected doubling of the number of diabetics by 2040.
